Child-Safety Seats Affected: An unknown number of Britax B-Safe 35 and B-Safe 35 Elite infant-safety seats manufactured between Oct. 1, 2014, and July 1, 2015. Affected models are: B-Safe 35 model numbers E9LU65M, E9LU65P, E9LU63F, E9LU66R, E9LS63F and EXLU65M; B-Safe 35 Elite model numbers E9LS55T, E9LS56P, E9LS55U, E9LS66C and E9LS65U; and B-Safe 35 Travel System model numbers S914900, S915400, S915200, S921900 and S01635200.
The Problem: Cracks may develop in and around the infant seat's carry-handle grip on the affected car seats. The cracks could cause the handle to break and the car seat could be dropped, injuring the child. Parents can continue to use the car seat when attached to the car seat base or a compatible stroller, but the car seat shouldn't be lifted or carried by the handle until it is fixed.
The Fix: Britax will send a remedy kit to owners. The kit contains instructions and a bracket that reinforces the carry handle.
What Owners Should Do: Owners can call Britax at 800-683-2045 or go to us.Britax.com for more info.
