Three Nissan Winter Warrior Concepts Brave Chilly Chicago

At the 2016 Chicago auto show, Nissan brought out the Rogue Winter Warrior crossover concept it revealed last month. But apparently one rugged, tracked crossover wasn’t enough, as the Rogue was joined by a Pathfinder and Murano wearing the same Dominator snow tracks in place of traditional wheels and tires. With a convoy of snow-ready crossover concepts, Nissan now looks ready to embark on an arctic expedition.

The snow tracks on the Nissan Winter Warrior Concepts feature custom frames finished in matte black, and measure 48 inches long, 30 inches high, and 15 inches wide. Suspension modifications were also made to fit the snow tracks to the cars. Each crossover’s powertrain, on the other hand, was left unchanged.

“Rogue, Murano and Pathfinder are proven all-wheel-drive crossovers that are very popular with customers, judging from exceptional sales results in 2015 and now in January 2016,” said Christian Meunier, senior vice president of Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations at Nissan North America, in a release. “With the Winter Warriors, we wanted to take that idea to the extreme, enhancing the vehicles’ advanced systems with special snow tracks, Genuine Nissan Accessories, and a custom exterior appearance.”

In addition to the crossovers gaining heavy-duty snow tracks, they also feature exterior design tweaks from Nissan Design America (NDA) such as matte red chrome body wrap and a “track” design across each side of the crossovers. All three cars are equipped with genuine accessories such as cargo area protectors, all-season floor mats, roof rail crossbars, rear bumper protectors, and a 9×9-foot hatch tent.
