McLaren just revealed a new driving experience for those with deep pockets, and it’s not a cookie-cutter trackday like you might expect. For the princely sum of just $15,000 per person, McLaren will provide lodging, amenities, and a camouflaged 570S for a winter driving academy in the Arctic Circle.
It’s billed as the “Pure McLaren Arctic Experience,” and it’s probably the only chance you’ll ever have to drive a supercar in such extreme conditions. The program is based in Ivalo, Finland, home of the renowned “Test World” facility, where miles of ice and snow tracks are carved out of the landscape.
Each participant receives instruction behind the wheel of a 570S, learning from McLaren’s top test drivers. The students will learn advanced car control technique, including the famed Scandinavian Flick maneuver.
Not convinced? For those insatiable maniacs who tire of driving supercars on ice, McLaren also offers a host of arctic-themed side activities, including a “husky safari and snowmobile expedition.” Housing is provided at the fabulous Javri Lodge, an ideal place to experience the northern lights up close.
If you’ve got both the appetite and the checkbook, get in touch with McLaren. The limited-space, three-day program runs from January 15th to February 3rd, 2017.
