Refreshed 2019 Nissan Murano Unveiled at L.A. Auto Show

When Nissan introduced the redesigned Murano back in 2014, we were impressed with the crossover’s stand-out design and luxurious cabin. The Murano also held off the Ford Edge and Hyundai Santa Fe to take first place in a three-way comparison test. But now that it’s been on sale for a few years, it’s time for a refresh. So meet the 2019 Nissan Murano.

The first thing you’ll notice about the 2019 Murano is the subtly updated front end. Nissan grafted on the latest iteration of its V-shaped corporate grille, added redesigned headlights, revised the foglights, and tweaked the taillights. Designers also added new 18- and 20-inch wheel options, as well as three new paint colors. None of these changes are significant, but they do help keep the Murano looking fresh in an increasingly competitive segment.

Inside, Nissan says the Platinum model gets new diamond-quilted leather seats and dark wood accents. Lower trim levels can be ordered with either a light-colored wood or metallic finish. Nissan’s rear-seat reminder and driver alertness monitor are now standard, and the 8.0-inch touchscreen includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

Buyers will be able to add an optional safety package that includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, automatic rear braking, traffic sign recognition, and a panoramic moonroof. Another package will add a panoramic moonroof, a 360-degree camera system, and a premium sound system.

Nissan has yet to announce pricing, but expect that to be released soon since the 2019 Murano goes on sale next month.
