There comes a time in certain cars’ life cycles when a special edition is needed to keep sales rolling in. It’s about that time—if not way past that time—for Infiniti’s aging flagship sedan, the Q70 (which you may still know better by its old M37 and M56 badges.) Behold the Q70 Premium Select Edition.
-Certainly, the words “premium” and “select” couldn’t say less about the car even when strung together, and they certainly don’t do justice to the actual upgrades, which include dark chrome trim, darkened lower rear bumper trim, a rear spoiler, and unique (also darkened) 20-inch wheels wrapped in 245/40 Bridgestone all-season performance rubber. With all that darkening, Infiniti could have called it Q70 “Midnight” edition, if only Cadillac hadn’t beat them to it for its own ATS and CTS Midnight editions. Curse you, de Nysschen, for taking all the cool names with you!
- -Occupants are in for a bit more coddling inside the Premium Select models, thanks to the fitment of semi-aniline leather seating in Graphite or Stone, a suede-like headliner above their noggins, and aluminum trim on the dash and console. Floor-level enhancements include illuminated door sills and contrasting piping on the floor mats.
