The 2019 Nissan Titan and Titan XD soldier on mostly unchanged since their recent redesigns. But the trucks receive a few much-needed updates that will make them a little more comfortable than before.
A 7.0-inch touchscreen is now standard on all models instead of the previous 5.0-inch unit. Finally, Titans receive Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, also standard. The trucks feature an additional USB media port, and two USB-A charge ports have been added to the PRO-4X, SL, and Platinum Reserve trims.
Nissan is also offering a new Fender audio system with a 485-watt, nine channel amplifier. You’ll find this system standard on the Titan Crew Cab SL, SL Midnight Edition, and Platinum Reserve, and optional on the Crew Cab and King Cab PRO-4X. For the XD, it’s standard on the Crew Cab SL and Platinum grades and optional on the PRO-4X Crew Cab and King Cab. The system comes with 12 speakers, except on King Cab models that have 10.
Two paint colors have been added to the palette: Moab Sunset and Midnight Pine. Rear Door Alert, which reminds drivers to check the back seat before they exit the vehicle, is now standard on King Cab and Crew Cab versions of the Titan and Titan XD.
Like last year, both trucks offer a 5.6-liter V-8 engine, and the XD is available with a 5.0-liter V-8 turbodiesel. Nissan made no mention of adding the V-6 it previously said it would introduce. In February, a Nissan spokesperson said there was no official timetable for rolling out the smaller engine.
The 2019 Nissan Titan and Titan XD go on sale this fall. In the meantime, the updated trucks are on display at the State Fair of Texas through October 21.
