In the safety realm, buyers benefit from standard forward collision-avoidance assist, blind-spot collision warning, lane keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic collision warning.

Base models receive a two-tone paint job, such as a black exterior with a gray roof, a white exterior with black roof, a silver exterior with black roof, a blue exterior with white roof, a red exterior with black roof, and a gray exterior with white roof.

The 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric features an electric motor that makes 201 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque. It’s supplied by a 64-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. Hyundai estimates a range of 258 miles on a single charge, putting it above the Bolt’s 238 miles.

The Kona Electric is available now in California. Eventually, it will head to certain states in the western and northeastern regions of the U.S.
