Vehicles Affected: Approximately 3,000 model-year 2015 Lexus NX 200t compact luxury SUVs manufactured between Dec. 18, 2014, and Feb. 2, 2015 The Problem: These vehicles are equipped with an antilock braking system, traction control system and vehicle stability control system, all of which are controlled by an automatic braking system actuator. A component inside the actuator may have been damaged during assembly and may cause the component to malfunction; under some driving conditions, when the ABS is activated, the malfunctioning actuator could cause loss of vehicle stability and increase the risk of a crash. The Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the ABS actuator for free. What Owners Should Do: Lexus manufacturer Toyota expects to begin notifying owners in early July. Owners can call the automaker at 800-331-4331, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more information.
