Audi Adds New Standard Features Across 2018 Lineup

Audi has announced updates for its 2018 model-year lineup, with many vehicles receiving additional standard features and new optional packages. The A5 and Q5 are all-new for the 2018 model year.

The entry-level A3 sedan and convertible receive two extra USB ports and heated front seats as standard across the entire lineup. Blind spot warning is now standard on the Premium Plus trim, and you can now receive the Bang & Olufsen premium audio system on that grade by opting for the Technology package, which also adds Audi’s MMI interface with navigation and the Audi Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster. The performance-oriented S3 gains a new S Sport package option that adds magnetic ride dampers and red brake calipers while the A3 e-Tron hatchback is now available with 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires via the Sport package. With destination included, pricing for the A3 starts at $32,925 for the sedan, $39,325 for the convertible, $40,475 for the e-Tron, and $44,625 for the S3.

Last year, the A4 was all-new and for the 2018 model year, the sedan receives more standard features such as heated front seats on the base Premium trim. The Premium Plus grade of the Allroad wagon and sedan also get blind spot warning and Audi pre sense rear. On the range-topping Prestige trim, the adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, active lane assist, traffic sign recognition, and high beam assist are standard on both body styles. The A4 sedan is also now available with the Black Optics package that includes 18-inch black alloy wheels, red brake calipers, gloss black sill blades, rear spoiler and side mirror covers painted gloss black, a flat-bottom steering wheel, piano black inlays, and red contrast stitching. Pricing for the A4 starts at $36,975 for the sedan, $45,475 for the Allroad wagon, and $52,375 for the performance-oriented S4.

Both the A6 and A7 receive a Competition package option that adds black side mirror covers, red brake calipers, 20-inch alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, a Quattro sport differential, brushed aluminum inlays, S Sport seats with diamond stitching, a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters, and black cloth headliner. The 3.0T trim for both the A6 and A7 also receives more power and is now rated at 340 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. A 360-degree view camera is now standard on the A6 Prestige while the A7 Prestige receives a corner view camera. On the Premium Plus trim and higher, the LED headlights and interior lights are standard on both cars. The S7 and RS 7 receive additional alloy wheel choices ranging from 20- to 21 inches in diameter and come shod in summer performance tires. A sport exhaust system with black finishers is now standard on the range-topping RS 7. The A6 starts at $50,675 with the 2.0-liter turbo-four and goes up to $72,875 for the S6. The A7, on the other hand, is pricier starting at $70,675 and goes up to $131,675 for the RS 7 Performance.

The flagship A8 gets an available Executive package that adds 20-inch alloy wheels and active safety features such as adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, active lane assist, blind spot warning, Audi pre sense rear, and a head-up display. On cars with the optional 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8, the Executive package adds ventilation, massage, power adjustment, and power lumbar support for the rear seats. There’s also a Black Optics package for the A8 that comes with black exterior accents and either 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels. Pricing starts at $83,475 for the A8 3.0T and goes up to $116,875 for the S8.

Audi’s crossovers also get additional standard features with the Q3 receiving a new Convenience package for the base Premium trim that adds keyless entry/start, a power tailgate, aluminum trim, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Premium Plus trim gets full LED headlights and taillights, and blind spot warning as standard. There’s also a new Sport Plus package for the Q3 Premium Plus that adds a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters, black roof rails, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The three-row Q7 gets standard keyless entry/start on all trims, a 3D Bose surround sound system on the Premium Plus trim, and power closing doors on the range-topping Prestige. Pricing for the Q3 starts at $33,875 while the Q7 starts at $50,875.

The 2018 Audi TT boasts parking sensors as standard on all models while the Technology package now comes with a 600-watt, 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. There’s also an S Line Competition package that adds brushed aluminum interior trim, red brake calipers, a sport-tuned suspension, leather/Alcantara sport seats, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. The performance-minded TTS is now available with Nappa leather front seats with diamond stitching and extended leather trim and controls in Crimson Red, Cloudy Gray, and Calendula Yellow. The TT Coupe starts at $44,925 and the TTS starts at $53,925, but TT roadster prices haven’t been announced yet.

Changes to the R8 supercar are mainly cosmetic with the addition of the optional Black Optics package that adds 20-inch alloy wheels, gloss black exhausts, Mythos Black side blades, and Titanium Black exterior trim. Audi’s smartphone interface now comes standard across the R8 lineup. The 2018 R8 will also be the first Audi that will be available with Audi’s laser LED lighting technology, which will be standard on the V10 Plus and optional on the V10. Additional 2018 updates include Anthracite or Carbon Sigma high-gloss inlays depending on the trim level, Audi Sport badging, and puddle lights.
