CARS.COM — If the regular versions of Porsche's luxury performance SUV just aren't exciting enough to suit your taste, you'll soon be able to spice things up with the Cayenne Platinum Edition. This limited run amps up the 2016 Cayenne's sporty looks inside and out, while adding standard convenience and driver-assist features.

The Platinum Edition will be available later this year on both the Cayenne and Cayenne S E-Hybrid plug-in SUVs. The Platinum Edition Cayenne will start at $66,650 and the S E-Hybrid at $82,650. That's compared with the regular versions of the Cayenne and Cayenne S E-Hybrid, which start at $59,350 and $78,250, respectively. All prices include a $1,050 destination charge.
Exterior upgrades include 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels housed in wider wheel arches, a high-gloss black exterior trim package and standard solid black-and-white paint finishes with Jet Black, Pupurite, Mahogany, Carrara White or Rhodium Silver metallic as options. Interior flourishes include eight-way electrically adjustable leather sport seats with Alcantara simulated suede center panels and Porsche badging on the head restraints, as well as stainless-steel doorsills with illuminated Platinum Edition badging.
Standard convenience and driver-assist features include bi-xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights with adaptive capability, front and rear park assist with graphic depictions of surrounding objects in the central display, automatic anti-glare side- and rearview mirrors, and dark-tinted privacy glass. Platinum models also will come with the Porsche Communication Management system, which includes navigation, Connect Plus with real-time traffic info and Apple CarPlay, and a premium Bose stereo system. The S E-Hybrid version also gets remote climate control for cabin preconditioning.
