Mysterious Aston Martin DB11 Prototype Caught on Nurburgring

Recently, Youtube user Supercarsfromeu caught an Aston Martin DB11 testing on the Nürburgring. But the DB11 has been on sale long enough that we can’t imagine Aston was testing the stock car. Could this be the inevitable DB11 S, complete with more power and a sportier suspension? Looks like it to us.

Currently, the Aston Martin DB11 is a fantastic grand tourer. When we drove one from London to Paris and back, the gorgeous, low-slung V-12 coupe proved to be the perfect alternative to train or air travel. And with 600 horsepower on tap, the DB11 certainly isn’t a car anyone would call underpowered. Nor is it completely useless on the track. We managed to get it around Big Willow faster than both the Jaguar F-Type R and the Nissan GT-R. That said, it’s far from the perfect track car.

Considering what Aston Martin was able to do with the V12 Vantage S, we very much like the idea of a sportier DB11. Will it be as enjoyable to drive as the Vantage S? Will it get a seven-speed dogleg manual? We certainly hope so.

Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
