SEMA-Bound Infiniti Q60 Gets More Power Courtesy of AMS

With the help of AMS Performance, Infiniti has squeaked out more horsepower and torque from the Q60. The Infiniti Q60 Red Alpha concept debuts at the Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas this week.

The show car is based on the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400, which makes 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque from a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6. The Red Alpha gains 19 percent more hp and 29 percent more torque thanks to a host of upgrades. By our math, that works out to 476 hp and 452 lb-ft. Infiniti and AMS put in special intercoolers, intakes with dry media filters, high-flow exhaust downpipes, and a catback exhaust. The coupe also boasts special ECU calibration, a high-capacity center heat exchanger, and a high-capacity overflow tank. Many of these parts will be available for purchase at Infiniti retailers and AMS distributors.

This isn’t the first time AMS Performance has teamed up with Nissan Motor Corp. Just a few months ago, AMS’ Alpha Performance announced it would collaborate with Infiniti on performance upgrades for the Q50 and Q60. The tuner also offers a host of performance products for the GT-R and even created special Alpha models that could put up a fight with a Bugatti Veyron.

The SEMA Show starts October 31 and runs through November 3.
