Vehicles affected by service bulletin:
- 2001-15 Nissan vehicles (all models)
The problem: Customers may notice that water vapor or fog develops in the headlights from time to time. For the most part, this is not a defect, as headlight assemblies are vented to allow for expansion and contraction due to temperature variations. However, some models have exhibited more condensation than is deemed acceptable.
Corrective action: Dealers will measure the amount of water in the headlight assembly. If it's within acceptable limits, no replacement will be necessary. If it's found to be more than the acceptable limit and no cracks are found in the headlight assembly, dealers will replace the assembly free of charge.
Warranty info: Assembly replacement will be covered under a special program created for this problem.
What owners should do: Call your local dealer with your vehicle's identification number to determine if it's eligible for repairs under this special program. You can call Nissan directly at 800-647-7261 or NHTSA at 888-327-4236. Reference TSB No. 03-074H.
