2013-14 Mazda CX-5 Brake Issue

CARS.COM

The problem: Affected vehicles may exhibit a squeaking or grinding sound from the rear brakes, which may be caused by a prematurely worn-out rear brake pad. The outer brake pad will show severe wear, while the inner pad will show little or no wear. This condition is most likely to occur in regions where road salt is used to clear roadways in winter. The outer rear brake pad will get rusty and stick; when this happens, the brakes stay partially applied when the brake is released, causing the wear.
