Audi A8 L Extended is a One-Off Limo From Ingolstadt

The 2016 Audi  A8 L sedan’s footprint already extends 207.4 inches (17.3 feet), but apparently that wasn’t enough for one customer in Europe. Fulfilling a special request, the automaker custom-built the Audi A8 L extended, which has an overall length of 250.8 inches, or 20.9 feet.

It’s not quite as long as the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman (21.3 feet) or the one-off Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine (21.6 feet), but it’s still a very impressive and special sedan. According to Audi, a team spent over a year developing and building the A8 L extended. The wheelbase stretches 13.8 feet (3.6 feet more than the normal A8), with room for six passengers to enjoy individual seats (all passengers face forward).

Despite the sedan’s big footprint, the customer opted to go with Audi’s relatively modest 3.0-liter, supercharged V-6 making 306 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to an eight-speed automatic and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system. The automaker claims the sedan weighs about 5,300 pounds and will run to 62 mph in 7.1 seconds. For extra stopping power, however, the sedan features a beefier brake setup from the S8.

Aside from a 7.9-foot panoramic glass roof, the Audi A8 L extended features a Rear Seat Entertainment system, a cooled storage box, and super-soft Valcona leather seats.
