Ford Takes Applications for GT -- but Not From All

CARS.COM — Ford has opened up its configurator for potential shoppers to see what their very own Ford GT supercar might cost them, but the company already is laying it on thick about who actually will be allowed to get one of the 200 it intends to build in the next two years. Initial sales will be limited to only 20 countries worldwide (the U.S. is thankfully one of those), and the automaker asks some pointed questions for those interested:

  • Are you a loyal Ford owner?
  • Have you owned a GT before?
  •  Are you prepared to be disappointed?

They don't ask that last question in so many words; they couch it as "Ford anticipates that there will be more potential purchasers than there are available Ford GTs," speaking in the third person as so many elites do these days.

Oh, and Ford's estimated starting MSRP (not including the destination fee)? The "low to mid $400,000's," usually a phrase reserved for real-estate agents.

You can start the application process here. Good luck.
