The latest episode of “Head 2 Head” takes a look at two of the most ridiculous crossovers that have come to market: the 2016 Bentley Bentayga and the 2016 Tesla Model X P90D. Both vehicles offer insane levels of performance for their size especially in a straight line. To prove the point, hosts Jason Cammisa and Jonny Lieberman race an Alfa Romeo 4C Spider against a Model X P90D towing a 4C Spider to prove how quick that Tesla is.
Powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbo W-12 that makes 600 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, the Bentley Bentayga offers exceptional power. The Tesla Model X P90D’s electric motors, on the other hand, produce a combined output of 531 hp and a pavement-destroying 713 lb-ft of torque. In terms of straight line performance, both cars were able to hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds or less and the quarter mile in under 12 seconds, putting them up there with the likes of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Despite their price difference, both hosts agree that the Model X and Bentayga compete against each other. The Bentley’s interior, however, may be too close to the Audi Q7, the car in which it shares its platform with. On the other hand, the Model X gives you all kinds of features that may seem cool but are a little unnecessary. In terms of appearance, Cammisa and Lieberman weren’t really sure which one looks better because they both feature polarizing designs.
