The 2017 Audi A4 Allroad will start at $44,950 when it heads to dealerships this fall. The wagon, which debuted earlier this year at the Detroit auto show, features the A4 sedan’s new 2.0-liter engine as well as off-road capability.
The A4 Allroad comes equipped with a redesigned 2.0-liter turbo-four producing 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. That’s more juice than the 2016 Allroad, which made 220 hp and 258 lb-ft. Also new is a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, replacing the eight-speed automatic on the previous model. All these changes warrant a higher price tag; the 2017 A4 Allroad is about $1,300 more expensive than the outgoing model.
Standard features on the A4 Allroad include a panoramic sunroof, leather seating surfaces, three-zone automatic climate control, LED daytime running lights, and “Audi pre sense basic” that sharpens the brakes and adjusts seat belt tensioning in preparation for impact. Stepping up to the mid-level Premium Plus trim will cost $47,950. Top-of-the-line Prestige models, which come standard with Audi side assist and Audi pre sense rear, will set buyers back $52,350.
Unlike the sedan, the A4 Allroad benefits from an additional 34 mm of ground clearance as well as off-road features including added underbody protection, raised roof rails, hill descent control, and a special off-road driving mode. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard, and the model also promises more cargo capacity than the sedan.
