We envy you if you were in Ketchum, Idaho, this past weekend. A Bugatti Veyron Vitesse “Hellbug” hit 230 mph down an Idaho freeway at the 2016 Sun Valley Road Rally a few days ago, as seen in the video below.
The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse packs a quad-turbo 8.0-liter W-16 engine with 1,200 hp, more than enough to impress a crowd of spectators alongside the highway for the event. During one run, the Veyron hit 230 mph, although it “only” managed to go 226.4 mph on its other run. Of course, a Veyron has gone much faster than this before, but it’s still quite a marvel to see the Veyron hit these high speeds on a lonely freeway.
This isn’t the first time the “Hellbug” showed off its skills at the Idaho event. Last year, the “Hellbug” reached 235.7 mph during the 2015 Sun Valley Road Rally.
The Veyron’s successor, named the Chiron, promises even more impressive performance. The Chiron delivers 1,500 hp and 1,165 lb-ft from its 16 cylinders.
Check out the videos below to see the Veyron’s performance at the Sun Valley Road Rally over the last two years.
