This is a deal Tony Soprano would’ve approved of. The white 2003 Cadillac Escalade driven by Tony in the HBO’s series “The Sopranos” recently sold for $119,780, much more than the SUV’s starting bid of $5,000.
According to RR Auction, the show actually had two white Escalades on hand, but this was the primary vehicle driven by Tony Soprano, played by late actor James Gandolfini. It’s the same Escalade Tony often drove to the Bada Bing strip club and other hot spots. It’s also the vehicle Tony used to run down Phil Leotardo in a wild chase scene.
The show car looks like any normal 2003 Cadillac Escalade, though there are a few surprises inside – Gandolfini’s autographs. The late actor reported autographed the driver’s side sun visor in addition to the back of the driver’s side headrest. He also wrote “Thanks for the truck, James Gandolfini” above the glovebox. The SUV also comes with an official movie prop license and a framed photograph signed by five cast members.
The Escalade’s detailed history wasn’t provided, though the auction company claims it was stored in a warehouse prior to the auction. It was sold with 108,969 miles on the odometer and most likely the faint scent of the countless cigars Tony smoked.
