Faraday Future has been busy releasing teaser videos of its upcoming production car set to debut soon at CES 2017 in Las Vegas.
The most recent clip reveals seats that the automaker says defy gravity. “Our vehicles’ seats were built to battle the burden of gravity,” Faraday states in the video description. “Experience our NASA-inspired ergonomics–and more–at #CES2017.” It’s a similar idea to Nissan’s “Zero Gravity Seats” that attempt to reduce fatigue for longer commutes or road trips.
The short teaser shows close-ups of the leather-lined seats, along with a few shots of the cabin. Faraday’s first production vehicle is expected to be an electric-powered SUV aimed at the Tesla Model X. A few weeks ago, Faraday began releasing footage of a prototype drag racing a number of quick vehicles including a Ferrari 488, Tesla Model X P100D Ludicrous, and a Bentley Bentayga. More recently, the Faraday prototype went head-to-head with a Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous. Faraday hinted that its car has “more torque to come” and should run from 0-60 mph in the low two-second range.
Not much is known about Faraday’s production vehicle. It will ride on the automaker’s Variable Product Architecture, which is capable of running up to four electric motors and accommodating a high-capacity battery pack. More details should come when Faraday officially debuts its new car at CES in January.
