2016 Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Gains Cylinder Deactivation

Although the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 coupe has only been on sale since the 2015 model year, the Italian automaker has already brought more upgrades to the table for 2016.

For 2016, the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 coupe and Spyder’s naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V-10 gains cylinder deactivation. Under cruise, one bank of cylinders shuts down and the engine operates in a five-cylinder mode. The engine seamlessly reverts back to 10-cylinder mode when the driver begins to accelerate. Fuel consumption and carbon emissions are said to improve.

Lamborghini also tweaked programming to the electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system for more neutral handling in all modes including Strada or Race mode.

Interior updates include standard leather trim on the door handles and on the upper part of the center console as well as matte black HVAC vents. Optional equipment includes Lamborghini’s Sensonum audio system with a ten-channel amplifier producing 390 watts pumped through 10 speakers.

The Huracán’s optional sports exhaust system and high gloss black tailpipes are now available worldwide. More bespoke options, including heritage colors and matte paints, are now available through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program.

Pricing for the 2016 Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 is unchanged in Europe, though no pricing announcement has been made for the U.S. market.

Recent rumors suggest the automaker will show a rear-drive version of the Lamborghini Huracán at the 2015 Los Angeles auto show next week.
