Audi recently announced that its heavy-hitting S8 Plus and RS 7 Performance sedans would be coming stateside, and now the automaker has released pricing for those high-powered models.
Both cars receive a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 tuned to 605 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, or 553 lb-ft through a temporary overboost function. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The S8 Plus will effectively replace the standard S8, and as a result is priced starting at the same $115,825 as the outgoing model. Despite that, customers will benefit from more power and new equipment. The S8 Plus receives a standard body-colored rear lip spoiler, silver mirror housings, and new 21-inch wheels. The optional Black Optic exterior package adds carbon fiber mirror housings, a blacked out grille and window surrounds, carbon front blade and diffuser trim, and smoked taillights. The available Dynamic package includes ceramic brakes and a carbon rear lip spoiler, as well as a sport exhaust system and increased speed limiter (190 mph).
The RS 7 Performance starts at $129,925, an increase of more than $20,000 over the standard RS 7. For that money, you get the higher-output engine, carbon ceramic brakes, RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control, a new rear bumper with integrated diffuser, sport exhaust with black tailpipes, carbon mirror housings, a gloss-black RS grille, and exclusive 21-inch aluminum wheels. The RS 7 Performance comes standard with RS sports seats, which can be specified with black Valcona leather and Alcantara upholstery with blue contrast stitching and carbon twill blue inlays.
The 2016 Audi S8 Plus and 2016 Audi RS 7 Performance will go on sale this December after making their debut at the 2015 L.A. auto show next week.
