At next month’s Tokyo Auto Salon, Mazda will exhibit a number of concept cars with performance parts from their tuning arm, Mazdaspeed. Two of the highlights are the Mazda MX-5 Miata RS Racing Concept (Roadster in Japan) and the CX-3 Racing Concept, which show off many cosmetic and performance upgrades for both vehicles.
On the Miata RS Racing Concept, upgrades include an exterior aero kit with red accents, sport seats in leather and Alcantara with red accents, red brake calipers and larger BBS alloy wheels painted in black. Mazda has also tweaked the chassis on the Miata RS Racing concept and has added a height-adjustable suspension setup.
The CX-3 Racing Concept, on the other hand, comes with an aero kit with red accents, larger alloy wheels in black with a red accent on the other edge, a rear roof spoiler, and a lowered suspension. Moving inside the CX-3 Racing Concept’s cabin, you’ll find Alcantara inserts in the dash and door panels, while the seats are upholstered exclusively in Alcantara. Red stitching is also a prominent feature of the car’s cabin and can be found in the dash, front seats, and parts of the center console.
Sharing the spotlight with the Miata RS and CX-3 Racing concepts at the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon will be the Global MX-5 Cup race car, a Mazda2 15MB Racing-Spec (Demio in Japan), the NR-A Racing-Spec Miata, the LM55 Vision Gran Turismo Concept, a Mazda6 Racing Concept, and the RX-Vision Concept that was revealed at the 2015 Tokyo auto show.
