The redesigned 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is almost here, and a new video from Mercedes shows the luxury sedan in various testing scenarios during its development phase.
Along with camouflaged versions of the new E-Class (like the spy shots we’ve already seen), the video also shows a few of the car’s new technology features in action, such as gesture controls for the Comand infotainment system and automated lane changes as part of the Distronic suite of semi-autonomous driving features. We also see the E-Class go through the requisite cold- and hot-weather testing, and Mercedes-Benz claims that the whole development process stretched over 48 months.
We already know a fair amount about the new 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, as spy photographs gave away much of the S-Class-inspired exterior design earlier this year. Mercedes-Benz also fully detailed the car’s plush interior and released information about many of its new technology features. We also reported on the new car’s range of inline-six engines a while back, though we don’t yet know production details for these new powertrains.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will make its official debut in a few short weeks at the 2016 Detroit auto show, so look for all sorts of new information on the 10th-generation luxury sedan then.
