The Murano has received no significant updates for the 2016 model year. Prospective buyers will still choose from four trim levels — S, SV, SL and Platinum — and either front- or all-wheel drive. Options packages include the Technology Package, available on the SL and Platinum versions; the Navigation Package, available on the S model; and Premium Package, available on the SV model, along with 18- or 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

Available safety and driver-assistance technologies include moving-object detection, blind spot warning, forward collision warning, forward emergency braking and rear cross-traffic alert. Available tech features include NissanConnect with Navigation, an 8-inch color display, Nissan's Around View Monitor, an eight-way power driver's seat with lumbar support, Sirius XM satellite radio, a smart key with push-button start and Bluetooth connectivity with hands-free capabilities.

The standard powertrain carries over to all 2016 versions and comprises a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine that makes 260 horsepower and is mated to a two-speed continuously variable automatic transmission. Fuel economy is 21/28/24 city/highway/combined for both front- and all-wheel-drive models.

The 2016 Murano with front-wheel drive starts at $30,560 for the S; $33,620 for the SV; $37,950 for the SL; and $40,000 for the Platinum. All prices include destination. All-wheel drive adds $1,600 to each trim level.
