2016 Volvo V60 Polestar Hits Sweden’s Mountain Roads on Ignition

On the latest episode of Motor Trend’s “Ignition,” host Jason Cammisa heads to Sweden to see if the 2016 Volvo V60 Polestar is the hottest wagon of them all. Powered by a 345-hp turbocharged straight-six, the special V60 hits 60 mph in 5 seconds flat, making it the third quickest wagon MT has ever tested. Add up the V60 Polestar’s good looks, safety features, and comfort, and the wagon may just be the hottest one on the road today.

The snowy mountains of Sweden provide the perfect backdrop to test out the Polestar model, which comes with Ohlins dampers, six-piston Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and plenty of cargo space. “Should you need an explanation on why we love wagons, it’s because they lose nothing in performance compared to the sport sedans they’re based on,” said Cammisa.

The Polestar badge is similar to the AMG or M badge found on Mercedes-Benz and BMW models, respectively, signaling that the model is more performance-oriented. Further showing off its performance chops, the Polestar has nearly 70 modifications from the standard V60.

Check out the 2016 Volvo V60 Polestar and all of Cammisa’s antics in the video below. Do you think it’s the hottest wagon out there?
