Acura's Super Bowl Ad Gets Engines Running ... With the Devil

CARS.COM — Throw up your devil horns and hide the brown M&Ms 'cause Van Halen will be rocking Super Bowl 50 in a commercial for the 2017 Acura NSX. The devilishly clever 60-second TV spot features the iconic rock band's "Runnin' With the Devil" and celebrates not only the general badassedness of the supercar but also its all-American pedigree.

The NSX, available for preorder starting Feb. 25, will be built at Acura's Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, using domestic and globally sourced parts. Slated to run during the first quarter of the Super Bowl, the minutelong commercial is drenched in red-white-and-blue light and shows the NSX in varying states of production. The action is accompanied by the rising sounds of recently reinstated Van Halen front man David Lee Roth's grunts, growls and screams — culminating with the tagline, "What he said," as the band's famed hit song reaches full volume.

The implication is that the NSX is just too good for words, and for fans of Van Halen's original lineup, so is this commercial. Watch Acura's NSX Super Bowl spot here.
