The 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR will debut at the Geneva motor show in March before heading to dealerships this summer.
Although official specs haven’t been released, Jaguar says the hotted-up F-Type will reach a top speed of 200 mph in coupe form. It should be quicker than the current F-Type R, which hit 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds during our tests. Not only does it promise speed, but the automaker calls it an “all-weather supercar that you can drive every day.”
The F-Type SVR is the first series production Jaguar developed by Special Vehicle Operations, which creates special high-performance models for both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands. It’s the same division that created the limited-edition F-Type Project 7. When it debuted last year, the Project 7 was said to be the fastest and most powerful production Jag yet with a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 tuned to 567 hp.
Earlier this month, a Dutch magazine obtained leaked details on the Jaguar F-Type SVR, and it looks like the car will pump out the same 567 hp as the Project 7. We’ve also heard that the F-Type SVR will feature all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic as the sole transmission choice.
Jaguar will make available both coupe and convertible versions of the F-Type SVR. It will go on sale alongside the standard F-Type, F-Type S, F-Type British Design Edition, and F-Type R when it arrives in dealerships.
