Audi A4 Pricing Jumps With 2017 Overhaul

CARS.COM — Audi redesigned its A4 sedan for 2017 with aluminum construction to cut weight, increased interior room and a host of new technology and standard equipment. Pricing increases $1,425 from the 2016 to $38,250 with a destination fee for the entry-level 2017 A4 Premium trim with front-wheel drive. Premium Plus ($42,050) and Prestige trims ($46,850) round out the collection. All-wheel drive adds $2,100 to each.

The new A4 made its U.S. debut at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and goes on sale in the spring of 2016.

More 2016 Detroit Auto Show Coverage

The A4's list of standard features now is more in line — and better equipped in some areas — with the slightly pricier Mercedes-Benz C-Class ($39,875 for the base C300). The 2017 A4 now includes as standard smart keyless access, a backup camera, LED interior lighting and three-zone auto climate control. Icing on the cake is a standard collision avoidance system with automatic braking up to 52 mph. Xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights and a sunroof round out a stout standard features list. The C300 also features collision avoidance and smart keyless access standard, but a sunroof and backup camera are optional.

Premium Plus models add Audi's Bang & Olufsen stereo that on the A4 comes with 19 speakers and 755 watts, as well as LED headlights, an S-Line appearance package and heated front seats. The top-of-the-line Prestige trim adds navigation with the Audi virtual cockpit, head-up display, blind spot monitoring and more.
