The new 2017 Kia Sportage will go on sale soon, but before the crossover arrives in showrooms, here’s what to expect in regards to pricing. The base 2017 Sportage LX with front-wheel drive will start at $23,885, which represents an $840 price jump from the starting price of the last-generation 2016 Kia Sportage. The model is available in LX, EX, and SX Turbo trims.
As previously reported, the 2017 Kia Sportage LX and EX models are powered by a 2.4-liter inline-four that makes 181 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic is the sole transmission choice. Standard items on the LX include 17-inch wheels, a touchscreen infotainment system, rear camera display, Bluetooth connectivity, and keyless entry. A LX Popular package ($1,100) adds heated front seats and other items, while a LX Cool and Connected package ($900) includes dual-zone climate control, a larger 7-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay.
Moving up to the front-drive Sportage EX bumps the price to $26,395. The EX includes everything from the LX (and aforementioned packages) and adds leather seats, push button start, smart key, 18-inch wheels, and gloss black exterior accents. Meanwhile, an EX Premium package ($1,900) adds a long list of features including a panoramic sunroof, interior ambient lighting, and driver assistance technology such as blind spot detection. Even more tech can be had with the addition of the $2,700 Technology package, which tacks on a premium sound system, lane departure warning, and more.
Finally, the range-topping 2017 Sportage SX Turbo carries a price tag of $33,395. The 2017 Sportage SX Turbo is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-four rated at 240 hp and 260 lb-ft that’s also mated to a six-speed auto. The SX Turbo includes everything from the EX model in addition to larger brakes, 19-inch rims, sport-tuned suspension, and bi-xenon headlights. All models are available with all-wheel drive for an additional $1,500.
