Mercedes is bringing an all-new model to its performance lineup for the 2017 model year. The 2017 Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe will feature model-specific chassis technology, a new nine-speed automatic transmission, and 4Matic all-wheel drive.
“The extension of the C-Class family to include the new C43 Coupe is another component in our growth strategy. It not only enriches the wide line-up of the C-Class family, but also starts the introduction of a whole series of new ‘43’ models this year,” said Mercedes-AMG GmbH chairman Tobias Moers in a recent release.
The new C43 Coupe will be powered by a 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbo engine that delivers 362 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque for a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. The C43 Coupe has five drive modes, and the AMG Ride Control sport suspension with adaptive variable damping offers three stages that can be selected via a button by the driver.
The newest addition to the AMG family boasts sporty styling cues on the front apron, including distinctive air intakes, diamond meshes, and silver chrome trim. Black exterior mirror housings, a high-gloss black window frame, and two chrome-plated tailpipes with a center divider complete the look. The model rides on standard 18-inch AMG high gloss black wheels or optional 19-inch wheels. Inside, customers will find sport seats with MB-Tex/Dinamica microfiber upholstery, a material that can also be found on the armrests, door center panels, and center console. Red contrast stitching, red seat belts, and aluminum trim pieces offer an attractive contrast.
The all-new 2017 Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe will hit U.S. dealerships this fall. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
