Why Do I Need to Rotate My Tires?

Rotating the tires from front to back (and side-to-side in many cases) helps tires wear more evenly and last longer – and can save money because you won’t need new tires as often. This applies whether you have front-, rear- or all-wheel drive. Many vehicle manufacturers recommend rotating tires at every oil change, but with a growing number of vehicles having oil-change intervals of 10,000 miles, that might not be often enough. Tire manufacturers usually recommend rotation every 6,000 to 8,000 miles. A good guideline is every 6,000 miles or six months, whichever comes first.
