2017 Mazda CX-5 Teased Before L.A. Auto Show

Mazda has confirmed it will debut a new CX-5 at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month. Ahead of the show, Mazda has teased us with a silhouette of the new compact crossover, which appears to have a long nose, thin lights, and a low-to-the-ground stance.

Mazda has refused to rest on its laurels since debuting the CX-5 for the 2013 model year. For 2014, Mazda changed up the engine lineup, and for 2016, the crossover received a number of touchups to the exterior as well as a new interior with an updated infotainment system. Mazda even added more standard features midway through the previous model year, including a rearview camera for automatic models. The new CX-5 will launch as a 2017 model-year vehicle in the U.S., although that designation could vary in other regions of the world.

“Taking the KODO—Soul of Motion design concept to a new level, the company has honed the car’s beauty, imparting a powerful combination of sophistication and strength,” Mazda said in a press release.

Judging from the sole teaser image, it looks like the model has taken at least a few styling cues from the recently launched CX-9. We’ll learn much more when the 2017 Mazda CX-5 debuts ahead of the L.A. auto show on November 16.
