We think you’re going to like this video if you’re not a fan of forced induction engines. Or if you just like witnessing random, meaningless destruction.
A turbocharger is the latest automotive victim to face the hydraulic press on what else but the Hydraulic Press Channel on YouTube. Every so often, Finnish factory owner Lauri Vuohensilta crushes different items (everything from phones to guitars and dynamite) with a hydraulic press and watches them get destroyed. The channel has become popular in a short period of time, amassing over 1.58 million subscribers so far.
A few days ago, a 400-hp VNT turbo custom made by Finnish company Turbotohtori succumbed to the weight of the unforgiving press. It’s quite a spectacle as different pieces are flying into the air every which way. Some parts of the turbocharger, however, do hold up quite well considering what they’ve gone through.
Earlier this summer, the channel featured a crushing session with carbon fiber, a material known for its great strength. Although they put up a fight, most of the samples were no match for the 100-ton machine in the end.
Watch a turbocharger, and a small toy car, get destroyed below by a hydraulic press in the video below.
